Copybook Solutions run a large and successful information portal site, and required a site search facility to allow users to find relevant articles quickly and easily.
I built a custom web spidering application in C#, which works each night to index all the information on the site and store it in a SQL Server 2000 database. The client pages then run against this database to find the relevant articles when the visitor searches (click 'Visit the site' below for an example search on copybook.com).
